This dress. It was hanging on a rack in the corner of a thrift store. My mum had singled it out, and called me over to look at it. She thoguht it was ugly, but I decided to try it on, despite the size tag claiming it was 2 sizes too small. It fit like a dream. A slightly tight, body hugging dream, with a weird print, in a colour that screams of the garish 80s. And I fell in love. I think I need some nice plastic earrings and bracelets to go with it.

We collect many things. I say we, but it’s mostly me. I don’t know how it all started or how some of these collections came to even start. One of the things we collect is tiny ornamental coffee cups. I only drink coffee at work, and Alex doesn’t at all, but if we were to start having coffee at home these would be the perfect size.

I’m always going to thrift stores and flea markets, so who knows what new collection will start to form.

I used to be an all blacks girl. My wardrobe was lacking colour of any kind. That’s ages ago now and whenever I look into my (tiny) walk in closet there’s an array of colours to almost blind me. This photo of me is a little bit of a back to the roots for me.
Almost all black!

And nowadays I don’t wear black because it supposedly makes me look thinner. Being thin would make me look thinner, being fat makes me look fat, whatever the colour on my clothes.

Mum and I picked these up at a flea market the other day. They are all much too small for me, but so cute and delicious looking. She will be selling them and I always take the photos for her auctions.

I want to wear a white dress, a pretty apron and a pair of clogs, bake some cookies and drink coffee from tiny ornamental cups.
