This is a dress I’ve seen being sold on ebay several times. I’ve wanted it but was never quite sure whether it would fit me, whether it was too short, whether it was worth taking the chance, so I didn’t buy it. Until it came up in a fatshionista friday sales post by the lovely Lauren of the pocket rocket.
I’m a firm believer of confidence. Confidence is key, especially when it comes to pulling of dresses that might be a tad bit short and a wee bit tight. So I wore this dress with my head held high and my back straight and made myself be comfortable with it. With a cardigan, because it’s autumn and freezing.
In other news : I found a HUGE bright yellow coat at a thrift shop today. It’s going to be all kinds of rad for winter. Now I want a nice big braided belt to wear on top of it.
- Dress – Second hand, size 22 UK

the dress looks great! oh my god, you must have the coolest thrift stores! I love hearing about all your cool finds… and Alex’s, too.
Lovely dress Emmie and it’s not too short at all!
Those colors just pop – something bright is needed to cut through the dull late October grey in Skåne!
Where do you find most of your thriftscores? I had the best luck at Erikshjälpen for household stuff, but not so much with clothes. I actually found my favorite jacket (a forest green corduroy vintage number) in the Stortorget for 70 kronor. It seemed like a lot in the middle of the summer when I knew I wouldn’t be wearing it for months, but it was one of the best purchases I made in Sweden. Looking forward to seeing the yellow coat!
Thanks Bazu and Cecilia!
Erin – I really don’t like erikshjälpen much anymore. I find they are too expensive. I go to flea markets (esplananden is a fav) and to thrift stores in the country side. My mum is totally nuts for thrifting so we go all over Skåne. I’m all kinds of cheap and probably wouldn’t pay 70 kr for a jacket. The coat I bought today was 30 kr. I quite like Uggleboden in Lund but otherwise it’s flea markets. The ones run by sports teams are excellent but a bit mad.
you’re absolutely rocking it, emmie. totally adorable!
